Selling digital products

Sell files from your sites and get paid straight to your bank account.

The Shop lets you sell digital products (ebooks, templates, presets, courses, audio and more) from any site you publish. Buyers pay online, receive their file by email, and your share is paid to your bank account.

Set up payouts

  1. Open Settings → Payouts and enter your bank and account number. We check the account name with your bank before saving.
  2. Payments are split automatically at checkout: our platform fee goes to iSelify and the rest is paid to your bank. iSelify never holds your money, so there is nothing to withdraw.
Until a payout account is added, Buy buttons on your sites are shown as unavailable. Changing your payout account later asks for your password again and emails you.

Who pays the transaction fee

Paystack charges a processing fee on every payment (about 1.5% + NGN 100, with the NGN 100 waived under NGN 2,500, and never more than NGN 2,000). In Settings → Payouts → Transaction fee you choose who pays it:

  • My buyers pay it: the fee is added to the price at checkout and shown to the buyer (for example, a NGN 10,000 product is NGN 10,000 plus the fee). You receive your full price, minus the platform fee.
  • I pay it (the default): buyers pay exactly the price you set, and Paystack's fee comes out of your share.

The choice applies to new purchases only. Existing orders keep the way they were charged. The platform fee is always worked out on your product price, never on the fee added for the buyer.

Add a product

  1. Open Shop in the top menu and press Add product.
  2. Give it a title, a description and a price (minimum NGN 100), then upload the file buyers will receive.
  3. Switch the product on when you're ready to sell.
  • Files can be up to 50 MB. Common document, archive, audio, video and image types are supported; programs and other executable files are not allowed.
  • A product holds one file. If you're selling several files together, pack them into a single .zip archive and upload that. Only .zip works (.rar isn't accepted).
  • You can have up to 50 products. Product files don't count toward your Media storage.
  • Deleting a product that already has orders archives it instead, so past buyers keep their downloads.

Put a Buy button on your site

  1. Open your site in the editor and add Elements → Commerce → Buy Button.
  2. Select the button and pick your product in the Style tab.
  3. Publish. Visitors who press the button enter their email and pay securely.

Already have a button on your page, for example one from a template or a design you pasted in? You don't need a new one. Right-click the button and choose Connect button to a product, or select it and press Connect to a product… in the Style tab, then pick the product from your list. Products that are on sale are listed first. To undo it, right-click and choose Disconnect from product, or press Make it a normal link instead.

Buy buttons work on your hosted site. In a ZIP export of a site they only show the editor's placeholder link.

What buyers get

After paying, the buyer is emailed a link to their own order page with a Download button. The link doesn't expire, so they can keep the email and come back any time. If a buyer loses it, they can ask for a new one from their payment confirmation page. Downloads are limited per order and per day to stop a shared link from spreading your file; if a buyer hits the limit, open the order in your Shop and press Resend link, which also resets the count.

Orders, earnings and refunds

  • The Shop page lists your orders, total sold (the prices you set), the platform fee taken and your share. If you pay the transaction fee, Paystack's processing fee also comes out of your share; if your buyers pay it, nothing more is taken.
  • A refunded order stops working: the buyer's download page closes automatically.
  • If you delete your account, your product files are deleted too, so past buyers can no longer download them.
