Stellenbosch University Graduation Week: December 11-15

Graduation is a highlight on our academic calendar. During this week, the University will again confer certificates, diplomas and degrees, honorary doctorates, as well as a Chancellor’s Award.

Stellenbosch University, known for its academic excellence and commitment to producing well-rounded graduates, is gearing up to celebrate its next cohort of successful students during Graduation Week, scheduled for December 11th to 15th. This event marks a significant milestone in the academic journey of many, as students from various faculties and disciplines come together to commemorate their hard-earned achievements.

Graduation Week is a culmination of years of dedication, hard work, and the pursuit of knowledge. It’s a time for both students and their families to revel in the fruits of their labor and the promise of a brighter future. As the campus buzzes with anticipation, the week’s events will include a series of graduation ceremonies, each tailored to different faculties and fields of study. The ceremonies will be held at the Coetzenburg Centre.

Read the graduation disclaimer:

The initial graduation notice is sent to all undergraduate final year and postgraduate students, irrespective of whether they will graduate at one of the 2023 December graduation ceremonies or not.

Receiving this information can thus not be regarded as proof of obtaining a qualification, as the communication is distributed and published for information purposes before it is known which students will graduate at the respective ceremonies.

Qualifying graduands will receive an email notification regarding graduation. Programme and graduate name lists will be uploaded from Monday 11 December 2023 onwards. Students must fulfil all requirements for the respective certificate, diploma or degree in order to graduate. Errors do occur and the onus is on you to verify that you fulfil all the requirements for graduation.

Please further note that students who utilise and pass a module during the second assessment opportunity (A3 assessment period which takes place from 22 November to 8 December 2023) and subsequently fulfil all the requirements for the respective programme will receive their qualifications at the March 2024 graduation cycle, which takes place between 25 to 28 March 2024.
